What's Closed, Open on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day?

There's no mail delivery Monday, but trash collection goes on as usual in Farmington and Farmington Hills.

Here's what you should know about Monday's federal holiday commemorating the birthday of civil rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.: 

  • Both the Farmington and Farmington Hills Post Office branches are closed today. Both have Automated Postal Centers, where you can weigh packages, purchase postage and conduct other business. There will be no mail delivery. 
  • Farmington Public Schools are not in session today. 
  • City offices in Farmington and Farmington Hills are closed today.
  • The 47th District Court building is closed today. 
  • Garbage and recycling pickup will take place on the regularly scheduled pickup days this week. 
  • The Farmington Community Library Main Library and Farmington branch are open.
  • Some banks are closed today. Check our directory and call before you go.
