Friday, October 29: You can no longer apply for an absentee ballot past 5:00 p.m., as ballots cannot be mailed at this time. Please take your absentee ballot application to City Hall to receive your ballot.

Sunday, October 31: This is the last day you can pick up an absentee ballot (AV) at City Hall to complete at home.

Monday, November 1: You can still get an AV ballot in person, but you must vote inside City Hall. You can’t take your ballot out of the room at this time.

The City can’t issue ballots to anyone for any reason after 4:00 p.m. However, if you are already in line by 4:00 p.m., you will still be served by staff. After this time, your remaining option will be to vote in person on Election Day.

ELECTION DAY – Tuesday, November 2: Polls are open from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. to cast your vote in person. All AV ballots must be signed and in the City Clerk’s possession by 8:00 p.m. to be counted. ‍

ABSENTEE VOTING

Once you are registered to vote, you have the option to apply for an absentee ballot application. There are a fewΒ requirementsΒ you must meet to obtain an AV ballot, but if you have questions or other circumstances, please call the City Clerk’s Office at 248-546-2525 to see if you qualify and to apply. You can also apply by completing our online application form and returning it to the City Clerk by mail or using our convenient drop box outside City Hall. Please note that voters applying in person must provide photo identification to be issued a ballot.Β AV applications must be received by Friday, October 29. Β 

If you are granted an AV ballot, the in-person voting deadline is Monday, November 1 at 4:00 p.m.Β In-person voting takes place at City Hall.

New Polling Locations

Due to the Kulick Center being closed to the public, there are two new polling locations this year. If you are voting in person, please review the image below to see where you will cast your vote.

Election Day

On Tuesday, November 2 the polls open at 7:00 a.m. and will remain open until 8:00 p.m. You must be in line at yourΒ registered polling locationΒ by 8:00 p.m. to vote.

If you have an AV ballot, it must be at City Hall by 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 2 to be counted. They can be mailed, dropped off in person, or placed in the dropbox outside of City Hall. If you are mailing your AV ballot, please make sure it is mailed in time to be at City Hall by Election Day. DO NOT bring AV ballots to a precinct.‍
