Ferndale Church Relocates To Berkley From Drayton Avenue Digs
Drayton Avenue Presbyterian moving to Berkley, plans to sell Ferndale building in 2018.
The Drayton Avenue Presbyterian Church will being sharing space with two other congregations at Cana Lutheran Church in Berkley. After peaking at more than 2,000 members, the 93-year-old Ferndale church has seen its congregation shrink to just 80 members.
Pastor J. Scott Miller told the Oakland County Times “We had to face that our building no longer fit the size of our congregation.” Parishioners will now attend services at Cana Lutheran on Catalpa in Berkley. The church plans to sell its Ferndale building in 2018.
