I Got You Babe: James and Dana Are Rockin' in Ferndale

Ferndale has its fair share of lovebirds, so we decided to check in with a few of them before Valentine's Day and ask them to share relationship and date night secrets.

Today, we take a closer look at what makes Dana Forrester and James Trunko so sweet. Dana and James live in Ferndale with their three dogs and together they play in the rock band CRUD.

How long have you been together?

James: We met 3 1/2 years ago, and have been married for 2 1/2 years.

Dana: We met on Match.com – I like to let everyone know because James and I played at the same clubs as musicians but never met each other! It took an online dating site to bring us together! I highly recommend it!

What’s the secret to a successful and happy relationship?

James: Being compatible with your mate. Dana and I are very compatible. We are best friends, and have a lot of common interests, and views.

Dana: Humor is a huge part of it – we laugh at pretty much everything - including ourselves!

What famous couple would you compare yourselves to?

James: Sonny and Cher - We are both musicians, and we make beautiful music together! Lol

Dana: Yup I’d have to agree! “I got you babe”…all the way lol

Why did you settle in Ferndale, and how long have you lived here?

Dana: I bought the house about 12 years ago because of the very creative community here –James lived in Warren until we started dating.

James: I moved to Ferndale to be with my beautiful wife!

What’s your favorite romantic night out in Ferndale and why?

James: We met for our first date at Sakana Sushi, and that is also where I proposed to her on Valentines Day - 2009. But a romantic night out could be spent having dinner at one of Ferndale's many great restaurants, like Inyo, and then seeing a local band perform at The Magic Bag, or The New Way Bar.

Dana: And dessert at the Cupcake Station – their cookies and cream and bumpy cake cupcakes are to die for!
