Ferndale Restaurant's Creation Wins Detroit Burger Brawl
One-Eyed Betty's takes the title of best burger with a burger wrapped in a donut batter roll.
Chef Emmele Herrold of One-Eyed Betty's in Ferndale took top honors at Saturday's Detroit Burger Brawl, a head-to-head hamburger grinding and grilling challenge held at Fairway Packing in Detroit's Eastern Market.
According to Detroit Free Press food writer Susan M. Selasky, who was one of five judges, "The winning burger was nestled between a roll made with Betty’s specialty donut batter that was stuffed with blue cheese, jalapenos, mushrooms and caramelized onions."
The Rattlesnake Club of Detroit finished in second place.
