Ferndale Woman Escapes Jeep After It Gets Stuck — Then Struck — On Train Tracks
Police charged the Ferndale driver with an OWI Super Drunk offense.

FERNDALE, MI — A Ferndale woman is alive after her Jeep got stuck then struck on railroad tracks on Dec. 14 at 10:30 p.m., according to a press release.
Police say that 28-year-old Noel Maree Delahaye reportedly drove her Jeep off of 9 Mile Rd. and onto railroad tracks near Pleasant St. where her Jeep became trapped in the tracks. She reportedly called 911 and told dispatch she was stuck on tracks in Birmingham. Birmingham police realized that Delahaye was actually in Ferndale.
Soon after, Ferndale Police received a call that a train had struck a car on the tracks. Arriving officers found Delahaye standing near the corner of Pleasant and Wolcott talking on her cell phone with Ferndale Police Dispatch.

Police conducted field sobriety tests and Delahaye's breath test results came in at .19. The legal driving limit is 0.08. Delahaye was arrested for OWI Super Drunk.
Officers found pills in Delahaye's purse and are investigating whether they were also a factor in the accident and whether she possessed them legally or not.
