James Shurter, MCC Art and Design Program Coordinator, tasked a student team from the MCC Design Center, part of the Graphic Design program at the College, with producing work for the competition. James Naegle, of Mt. Morris, Lucas Giampa, of Flint and Gavin Williams, of Swartz Creek, volunteered to for the team.
“They had a tight turnaround for this project and completed the task in just four days,” said Shurter, who also serves as the Design Center Creative Director.
"The College and the Graphic Design program have always supported our students participating in the American Advertising Awards and AAF-GF over the years,” he said. “We recognize how important it is for them to have the kind of exposure that this competition can provide.”
“Many students have launched their professional careers because their work was seen at the local American Advertising Awards,” Shurter said, adding “when the call came out for this competition there was no way that I was not going to have our students participate. James, Lucas and Gavin did not disappoint with their commitment to providing the best possible solution for this competition in such a short amount of time. We couldn't be prouder of their work."
“When we were presented with the work the students at Mott Community College created for the AAF Greater Flint American Advertising Awards, we were amazed at how they captured the true essence of what this competition stands for. Diversity, elegance and iconic symbolism of the Flint area. We were thrilled with what they created and can’t wait to start rolling it out to the marketing and business community to promote the award competition,” said Dave Perry, President of the AAF-GF.
The AAF-GF’s “Evening of Excellence” will be held Feb. 25, 2022 at Warwick Hills Golf & Country Club. Entries for the 2022 awards are open. For more information, or to submit an entry, go to http://bd0145084f.nxcli.net/awards/addys/
