  1. The Grand Rapids Planning Commission has approved rezoning for a 42-unit condominium development in the Garfield Park neighborhood, as well as the construction of a four-story office building. Nonprofit housing developer Dwelling Place decreased its originally proposed 47 condo units to 42 after neighborhood concerns about the density of the project, which would be located at 2080 Union Ave. SE.   2. The city of Grand Rapids is making it easier for people who are picking up leaves and tree branches that were left behind from this weekend's wind storms. The hours at the yard waste drop-off site in Grand Rapids have been extended and will remain open throughout this winter, instead of closing this past Saturday as originally planned.
