  1. A new splash pad is among some of the improvements slated for Garfield Park on Grand Rapids’ Southeast Side. Grand Rapids city commissioners gave initial approval on Tuesday to a $809,000 construction contract for the splash pad and other improvements at the park at 250 Burton St. SE. If given final approval at the commission's meeting on Tuesday, construction would start in spring 2022 and be completed in late summer 2022, according to city officials. (MLive.com)
  2. Winter Wonder Walk is ready to welcome families to LMCU Ballpark. Beginning Thursday through Sunday, visitors can walk through two miles of Christmas displays that feature more than one million lights. Capacity limits are in place due to the popularity of the event, so visitors need to sign up online and buy a parking pass to take part. (WZZM13.com)
  3. Sony Pictures Worldwide has acquired “Death of a Telemarketer,” a film by local Sundance Film Festival producer and Grand Rapids resident Jash’d Belcher. (GR|MAG)
  4. Grand Rapids is partnering with the United Veterans Council of Kent County to celebrate Veterans Day with a four-day Light Grand Rapids event, where residents and businesses are called to light up their yards and houses during the holiday weekend. (Fox17)
