  1. Two years later, a Grand Rapids man's family is pleading for closure in an unsolved homicide. Manuel Salgado was confronted by two suspects and then shot, along with another victim, on Dec. 5, 2019 in the 500 block of Lincoln Avenue. Silent Observer announced a $2,500 reward on Monday for information leading to the killer's arrest. (WWMT-TV)
  2. A Grand Rapids radio host with Portage roots is the first Michigan woman to ever be crowned Mrs. America. Jackie Blankenship, 36, of Grandville, was crowned the 45th Mrs. America on Nov. 20, at the Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino in Nevada. Blankenship, who was born intersex, advocated for intersex youth as her chosen platform. She co-hosts “The Gray & Green Show” with Rachael Gray on 105.3 HOT-FM. (mlive.com)
