- The Kent County Animal Shelter is encouraging residents to consider opening their hearts and homes to animals in need. Kent County has dozens of animals in its care with only a few in foster homes. The shelter will also provide all the supplies needed for a family to foster a furry friend. (WZZM13.com)
- A 43-year-old woman in Grand Rapids is dead after being shot on Christmas Eve. The woman was shot in the chest inside a home on the 600 block of Cass Ave. just before 9 p.m., and later pronounced dead at St. Mary's Hospital. According to Grand Rapids police, the victim and shooting suspect knew each other; the suspect is currently in custody. (WWMT-TV)
- Grand Rapids shoppers can soon enjoy a new moviegoing experience at Phoenix Theatres at Woodland.
