Major MI Company Cuts 400 Jobs In Move To AI
The company said the cuts are necessary to help them remain competitive and strong.
A major Michigan financial company is cutting jobs as it moves toward artificial intelligence technology.
Crain’s Grand Rapids reports Acrisure will cut 400 jobs, including roughly 200 in Grand Rapids. The cuts will affect accounting jobs and will be permanent starting in early 2026. The company said employees were told in a memo released Wednesday.
The company said the cuts are necessary to help them remain competitive and strong.

"Acrisure remains very committed to the Grand Rapids community and our home state of Michigan, where we employ approximately 2,000 people and continue to hire for roles in various areas," an Acrisure spokesperson said. "We will continue investing in local partnerships, programs, nonprofits, and initiatives that strengthen the region, while working toward a future that creates value for employees, customers, and the broader community alike."
In 2020, Acrisure bought Tulco’s artificial intelligence insurance business for $400 million. The company said at the time that the AI program will help them thrive long term.
