  1. Grand Rapids is looking for a new police chief, and the city wants ideas. Wednesday night was the first of four public input sessions. The city says it has allotted $32,000 for the search. About a dozen people called into the first meeting, with a few of them sharing opinions. One caller says one of his biggest hopes is for better support for the next chief. (WZZM13.com)
  2. A former Family Fare store in Grand Rapids has been converted into a temporary COVID-19 booster shot clinic. SpartanNash announced that the shuttered Family Fare, located at 4325 Breton Road, is reopening on Thursday, Oct. 14 as a free COVID-19 booster shot clinic for high-risk residents. The clinic will operate every Thursday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. during the month of October. (MLive.com)
  3. Architecture and engineering firm Progressive AE Inc. has joined a national challenge calling for all new buildings, developments, and major renovations to be carbon neutral by 2030. (MiBiz: West Michigan Business News)
  4. The Grand Rapids Ballet will be returning to the stage Friday, Oct. 15, after announcing in July 2020 it was halting in-person performances due to the COVID-19 pandemic. (MLive.com)
