Here are the top stories today in Grand Rapids:
- The Grand Rapids Police Department is investigating reports of two people shooting at each other from their cars on Thursday near Burton Street SE and Alto Avenue SE. Upon arrival, police found a car had crashed into a tree at the intersection. No injuries have been reported as a result of the shooting and the suspects identities are unknown. (WZZM13.com)
- The first Harris Holiday Market fashion pop-up is planned for the newly branded downtown SoDiv commercial corridor on Division Avenue between Fulton and Wealthy streets. The market runs from 5-9 p.m. on Dec. 10, and 10 a.m.-5 p.m. on Dec. 11, at Little Space Studio on the main floor of the Harris Building at 111 S. Division Ave. Renise Warners, owner of Basic Bee Boutique at 325 S. Division Ave. and coordinator of the event, said while pop-ups have always been essential to connecting boutiques with their customers and community, they are more vital now than ever to help get retailers off the ground. - Grand Rapids-based Country Fresh Dairy donated 100,000 shelf-stable Giving Cow milks to Feeding America Western Michigan on Thursday, with 36,500 packs being delivered in partnership with SpartanNash. (Fox17)
- The City of Grand Rapids and the Downtown Development Authority (DDA) are planning to partner to host a public ice-skating season at Van Andel Arena. (Press Release Desk)
- Power has been restored for more than 1,000 customers who were without it after a crash on US-131 at the Market Street off-ramp on Wednesday night. (WOODTV.com)
