City of Grosse Pointe to Purchase Parking Software
The council approved the purchase of software that will update the current system to industry standards.

In an effort to keep the automated parking pay stations in the up-to-date and operational, council approved the purchase of a software upgrade. The cost is not to exceed $42,000.
The upgrade will bring the parking pay stations in line with industry standards, which have changed, according to a recommendation by City Manager Peter Dame. The current software will no longer be supported by the manufacturing company as of Dec. 31 because of the changing industry standards, which is spurring the purchase.Â
In anticipation of the upgrade, officials planned for the purchase, which will be paid for out of the City's Parking Fund.
