Teen Shot, Injured During HS Football Game In Wayne County: Police

Police were still searching for the shooting.

HARPER WOODS, MI — A teen was shot and injured during a high school football game last Friday night in Wayne County, according to police.

The shooting happened at 9:30 p.m. in the parking lot of Harper Woods High School where a large fight broke out near the end of the game, according to police.

Police said a 17-year-old boy was shot in the lower torso and suffered not life-threatening injuries.

The shooting happened despite a large law enforcement presence at the game that included Harper Woods police, the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office and Michigan State Police, according to police.
