Construction on I-94, I-75 Expected This Weekend

The Michigan Department of Transportation announced Thursday construction projects that may cause delays this weekend on local freeways. 

I-94 

Eastbound I-94 will be closed at M-53 (Van Dyke Avenue) for ongoing bridge replacement in Detroit. The full closure is from 4 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday. The detour directs to the I-94 exit and entrance ramps at Van Dyke.

Westbound I-94 at the Rohns Pedestrian Overpass (near Gratiot Avenue) will go down to a single right-lane from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday for bridge maintenance.

In Macomb County, westbound I-94 will have a single lane open from Masonic Boulevard to 10 Mile Road from 6 a.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Monday.

I-96

In Detroit, the right eastbound I-96 express lane and the left lane of the eastbound local lanes will be closed from Meyers to Davison from 7 a.m. until 5 p.m. Saturday for lighting work. 

I-75

In Detroit, the ongoing resurfacing project between I-94 and 7 Mile Road will have the following restrictions scheduled:

• Two left lanes on southbound I-75 will be closed from Holbrook Avenue to I-94 from 9 p.m. Thursday to 5 a.m. Friday.
• Two left lanes on northbound I-75 will be closed from I-94 to Holbrook Avenue from 9 p.m. Friday to 8 a.m. Saturday and again from 9 p.m. Saturday to 8 a.m. Sunday.
• Two left northbound lanes on I-75 will be closed from Holbrook Avenue to the Davison Freeway from 9 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday.

• Eastbound and westbound Eureka Road entrance ramps to southbound I-75 will be closed
• Northbound I-75 exit ramp to Eureka Road will be closed
• The two right lanes will be closed on eastbound Eureka Road from Racho Road to I-75

M-85 (Fort Street) 

In Wayne County, both directions of M-85 (Fort Street) between Cloverlawn Avenue and Southfield Road will have two lanes closed beginning from 7 a.m. Saturday, ending in early August for pavement repair.
