Ford House Named An "American Castle"
CNN has named the Ford House one of seven "Outrageous American Castles."
The Edsel & Eleanor Ford House on Lake Shore is a historic community destination where residents of Metro Detroit, and beyond, visit to admire the historic grounds, dine at the cafe and take part in a number of programs throughout the year.
The Albert Kahn-designed home recently received national attention when it was featured in a story by CNN and named one "Outrageous American Mansions."
The story featured a description of the 60-room house and grounds, unique amenities and contact information.
Other "castles" named include:
- The Breakers in Newport, Rhode Island
- Biltmore in Asheville, North Carolina
- Coral Castle in Miami
- Hearst Castle in San Simeon, California
- Ca' d'Zan in Sarasota, Florida
