Former Babysitter Reportedly Issues Threat

Fired babysitter issues threat

A 38-year-old Grosse Pointe Farms resident reported May 20 that she had fired a babysitter because she “lost the trust” of her former employer and that she “did not feel comfortable” with the woman in her home. According to a police a report, the Grosse Pointe Farms resident reported that her former babysitter sent a letter demanding she receive a "glowing letter of recommendation" or she "will see a few people." Officers recommend she contact Wayne County to obtain a personal protection order. 

Violent customer

A 22-year-old Clinton Township resident was arrested May 18 after he grabbed a bag a of chips at a gas station at 19100 Mack and tried to leave. When he was told he had to pay for the chips, he started yelling and then began to rap about beating up an employee, and according to a police report, said he would burn down the building. After police were called, he started throwing newspapers around the gas station and left. He was later arrested for retail fraud and disorderly conduct.

Disgruntled boyfriend

A car driven by a 46-year-old St. Clair Shores resident was reportedly struck May 19 at Lothrop and Kercheval by his ex-wife's current boyfriend. Police were called after a witness saw a Dodge Magnum hit a Ford pickup in the intersection. The driver of the pickup, from St. Clair Shores, said he went to his ex-wife's house in the City of Grosse Pointe to pick up his dog. Her boyfriend was over and the men got in an argument. The ex-husband left, but was followed and was allegedly hit by the boyfriend. Police are investigating.
