Good Morning Grosse Pointe: July 1

A few things to help you start your day in Grosse Pointe. 

1. Dress lightly today as the National Weather Service warns it'll be humid today. The highs are expected to be in the mid-to upper 80s with partly cloudy conditions but no rain expected until Saturday. 

2. Today is the last day of business for city offices until Tuesday due to the Fourth of July holiday Monday. In , officials will not return until Wednesday July 6 because Tuesday is a mandated furlough date implemented by city council earlier this year.

3. A developed with the Grosse Pointe Park Housing Foundation, receiving its first anonymous donation of $250,000. The project announced Thursday has already garnered some applicants and the Grosse Pointe Park Business Association is excited about its potential. 

4. Meet : Harriett, Judy, Susie and Katie. Their owners, Al and Louise Thomas, plan to try to keep their pets, who have become a part of theirs and their grandchildren's everyday lives, to grant them an exception to an ordinance banning animals that are not indoor pets.
