1. Today is expected to be the hottest of the heatwave reaching a high of 98 that will feel more like 106 when the heat index is factored in, according to the National Weather Service. Hot and sunny conditions are expected until nighttime when clouds start moving in with a 20 percent chance of thunderstorms. Take note of about the heat and air quality, which recommend avoiding strenuous outdoor work or activity, drinking plenty of water and being conscious of the hazardous conditions.
