1. Don't forget your sunglasses. Today is expected to be mostly sunny with temperatures reaching 85, according to the National Weather Service. It will remain clear into the evening with a nighttime low of 65 and similar conditions are expected to repeat on Tuesday. A hazardous weather outlook warns today that it will be a short reprieve from the extreme heat as the heat index is expected to climb again with temperatures back in the 90s and nearing 100 by Thursday.
2. Grosse Pointe School Board meets at 8 p.m. tonight with a variety of agenda items. Should the board approve the Human Resources report, South's new principal is to be Matthew Outlaw and North's new athletic director is to be Ben Bandfield. The board will also be considering and remote voting by board members in the event of a necessary absence. The failed Head Start program at Poupard will also likely be discussed although it's not an agenda item.Â

3. Swim team finals are going on throughout the week in all of the Grosse Pointes. Check the cities' websites for more information on times if you want to stop by and catch some action. There is feeling among the swimmers and their families who spend so much of the summer together. Good luck to all the swimmers!Â
