The cuts help reduce the amount of fund equity the district will use to balance its budget, therefore preserving the backup account that took years to build.
4. There is a free event at the Grosse Pointe War Memorial tonight featuring an author, a vegetarian dinner, live music and classical Indian dance. Radhanth Swami will talk about his autobiography, The Journey Home.Â

5. The Grosse Pointe Schools Safety Town course has begun its first session of the summer at . The program aims to education near-kindergarteners about safety related to fires, traffic, bicycles as well as litter prevention and recycling. More sessions are offered throughout the summer.Â
