• Bob Bashara's Bond Reduction Request Pending: The judge heard arguments early Thursday in Third Circuit Court on a bond reduction request from Bob Bashara's attorney. Prosecutors oppose any change, saying his behavior since being in jail has continued to be of concern.
• 7 Grosse Pointe Students Named National Merit Semifinalists: Four students from Grosse Pointe South and three students from Grosse Pointe North were selected as semifinalists in the 2013 National Merit Scholarship Program.
• Grosse Pointe Woods Man Arraigned in Molestation Case: A 55-year-old Grosse Pointe Woods man waived the reading of his formal charges Wednesday in a case in which he is accused of molesting a girl from 2007 to 2011.
• Grosse Pointe Woods Resident Arraigned in Cat Hoarding Case: The 70-year-old Grosse Pointe Woods woman accused of abusing animals after more than 75 feral cats were removed from her home earlier this year made her first appearance in court on a felony charge Wednesday.
• Grosse Pointe Farms Discusses Council Vacancy: Grosse Pointe Farms officials will be accepting letters of interest along with a resume from any resident wishing to fill the vacant seat on city council following the passing of Mayor Pro Tem Joseph Leonard.
