Grosse Pointe Woods-Shores Little League Wins in a Walk-off, Qualifies for Semifinals
The Grosse Pointe Woods-Shores Little League team plays Thursday in their continued march to the Little League Baseball World Series in Williamsport, Pa.

The Grosse Pointe Woods-Shores Little League Team wonΒ 7-6 Tuesday in dramatic fashion over the HamiltonΒ West Side All-StarsΒ to move on in the Little LeagueΒ Great Lakes Regional Tournament.Β
Heading into the sixth inning of Tuesday's game, the team from the Grosse Pointes had a 6-3 lead. Hamilton rallied to score three runs, and then loaded the bases with only one out, according to Jason Hill, who has a son on the team from Michigan.
The Grosse Pointe team got out of the inning with a force out at home, and a ground out to third.Β

"It was a big momentum boost,"Β Hill said of escaping the inning with the game tied.
Leading off the bottom of the sixth, Jimmy Mazzola led off with walk. He moved to third after Joey Rheaume singled to right.

Tyler Hill came up to bat, and with a 1-1 count, he smacked the ball into right center to for the walk-off win.
With the win over Hamilton West Side All-Stars,Β Β the team from the Grosse PointesΒ qualified for the semifinal game at 2 p.m. Thursday in Indianapolis. ThisΒ will be a rematch between the two teams.Β
