Moms Talk: Explaining Death

Osama bin Laden's dead and the world, or at least the United States, seems to be celebrating his death in a big way. While adults comprehend the symbolic victory his death represents and therefore the celebratory attitude, kids may not.

His death is one recent example of major news that's hard to avoid. 

Meanwhile, local preschool teacher, Marion Harris, was shot to death outside her Detroit home by a purse snatcher. Many area parents found themselves trying to figure out how to tell their children about why she was suddenly no longer in school.
