Zaranek to Play in Softball Tourney in Europe
Grosse Pointe North senior and Wayne State recruit Amy Zaranek will play in softball tournament in Amsterdam next month.
Talk about a cool senior trip.
softball player Amy Zaranek will compete in the European CUP tournament next month in Amsterdam.
Zaranek, who recently signed a national letter of intent to play college softball at Wayne State, will play for the North American Select Team in the tournament.

Zaranek already has practiced once with her team in Rock Hill, SC, and she will have one more practice in January before heading to Europe, her father Bob said in an email.
In addition to playing in Amsterdam, Zaranek and her teammates also will visit Paris and Rotterdam.

Zaranek led Grosse Pointe North to a , pacing the team with her pitching and hitting. She struck out 235 batters in 165 innings pitched, and she batted .550.
In November, Zaranek played for the Carolina Gold travel team out of Asheville, NC, in the Early Signing Showcase Tournament in Myrtle Beach, SC. Zaranek hit two home runs and pitched in five games at the event.
In addition to GPN and the Carolina Gold, Zaranek has played for the Grosse Pointe Diamonds and Vipers Fastpitch program.
