(detroitnews.com) — Hamtramck drivers are seeing far more traffic and parking tickets than in 2006, even as most Michigan communities write fewer citations. The city’s 31st District Court processed huge increases, driven partly by controversial Sentry parking meters that have since been scrapped, leaving no meters and fresh concerns about blocked spaces on Joseph Campau.
   

• Men Receive Life Sentences in Home Invasion Murder of Jeweler (nationaljeweler.com) — A longtime Hamtramck jeweler, who owned Gold and Glitter, was killed in a 2024 Rochester Hills home invasion, and the two Dearborn men convicted in his death have now been sentenced to life without parole. His family described him as a hardworking, beloved figure, while the judge condemned the crime as cowardly and imposed additional lengthy terms for unlawful imprisonment.
