LEGACY Softball Takes Second in State Tournament

Here at Patch, we love to regularly spotlight young people in the Hartland community who are successful, talented and just plain awesome.

But we need your help. We know those kids are out there doing great things for and in the community, so let us know about them so we can help spread the word.

Today we feature the LEGACY softball team who finished their season last week.

Introduction: The LEGACY softball team was the MAAA State Runner-Up after making it the Softball State Championship Tournament.

Achievement: Although the game ended in a loss to Portage, the team played well with a final score of 8-3.

  • 1st Inning - 0-0
  • 2nd Inning - 0-0
  • 3rd Inning - 3-3
  • 4th Inning - 3-3
  • 5th Inning - 8-3
  • 6th Inning- 8-3
Keys to awesomeness: LEGACY teacher Scott LeMay said that all the students played really well and only had one bad inning in the championship game. "LEGACY was represented very well," he said. Thanks to Coach Vaughn and these students for being such awesome ambassadors for Hartland.

Do you know a local young person who deserves applause because he or she shovels the elderly neighbors' driveway? Or perhaps athletic achievements are worth sharing. Everyone deserves attention, and we want to tell these stories. Email nominations to local editor Tatum Ryan at tatum.ryan@patch.com, provide the information shown above and include a photo with names and ages.
