Alexandria’s Nature Bus 11-1pm
Alexandria’s Nature Bus is run by Howell Conference and Nature Center and will be at Lutz Get Together from 11-1pm. Families will be able to get up close to birds of prey and learn more about the environment from their fantastic interpretive staff. The animals are residents of their rehabilitation center and are very comfortable around people.
 Bee Keeping
Â
Tim and Kathy Bennett and family own and operate Turtlebee Farms just north of Lutz Park in Deerfield Township. The farm is fully operational and offers some of the best quality meats around. If raising livestock doesn’t keep them busy enough they also practice the art of bee keeping and even offer classes.
 Michigan Barn Preservation Network
Barns provoke memories or visions of a simpler time. The preservation of these landmarks is essential to not only remembering our heritage but can also be used in modern architecture. Tim Wiles, Vice President of the Michigan Barn Preservation Network, can tear down and build a barn like no other. Come see the group raise a demonstration size barn using the old fashioned mortise and tenon method that is sure to peak kid’s interest.
 Beyond the Garden Gate 1-3pm
Bring your kids to get their hands dirty planting their own seeds in a small take-home container! Learn what plants need to survive with Pam Leach a Professional Gardener. Pam Leach is also responsible for our beautiful Native Butterfly Garden at the entrance to Lutz Park.
