She provided great, approachable recipes and hilarious stories! From creamy cooked veggie salad to pierogis and pasties, Renee provided attendees with a full menu with which to enjoy this year's Great Michigan Reads book pick, The Women of the Copper Country. The book focuses on the copper mining that took place in an Upper Peninsula town called Calumet in the early twentieth century, and the struggles that one woman endures to rally her town against the injustices of the
mining industry.
