• Meijer State Games announces 2025 Athletes of the Year Newsradio WOOD 1300 and 106.9 FM (iheart.com) — A Hastings resident, 20-year-old wrestler Sophia Sunior, has been named the Meijer State Games of Michigan’s 2025 Female Athlete of the Year for beach wrestling. Her rapid rise includes a state high school podium finish and becoming Grand Valley State University Wrestling Club’s first female All-American. The Games also honored standout athletes from New Baltimore, Armada, and Alma across track and field and wrestling.
