• Hesperia student, mom die in Muskegon County crash (oceanacountypress.com) — A Hesperia Community Schools third grader and her mother were killed Wednesday morning in a crash on snowy Maple Island Road in Muskegon County, and the district has activated its crisis response team. Superintendent Bryan Mey says counseling and other supports are available for students, families, and staff, and urges parents to talk openly with children as they process grief and confusion.
   

• 2025 Hesperia boys basketball kicks off season with victory over MCE (shorelinemedia.net) — Hesperia boys basketball opened its 2025 season with a 63–51 home win over Mason County Eastern, giving local fans an early reason to cheer. Led by double-digit scoring from Malakai Sellers, Keegan Roberson, and Nate Sherburn, the Panthers overcame a third-quarter surge by MCE before pulling away in the final period.
