• NMU track & field wins pair of events at Early Bird (miningjournal.net) — An Ishpeming High School graduate, Lola Korpi, helped Northern Michigan University’s women’s track team open its season with a strong showing at the Early Bird Invitational in Wisconsin, including two event wins and many top-five finishes. The Wildcats now look ahead to their next meet in late January and a single home meet in early February.
