2 Children Killed In Fire; Victims Were 4 And 7: Kalamazoo Authorities
Authorities believe the fire was accidental, but the blaze remains under investigation, officials said.

KALAMAZOO, MI — Two small children died in an overnight house fire in Kalamazoo, according to authorities.
Officials identified the victims as Evelyn Blackport, 4, and Elliot James Blackport, 7.
Authorities responded around 2 a.m. Monday to the 1500 block of East Stockbridge Avenue, officials said. One adult and one child were able to escape, but when firefighters arrived they encountered heavy flames on the first floor that quickly spread upstairs, according to Kalamazoo Public Safety.

The two victims were unable to get out of the house and were found dead, authorities said, adding the cause of the blaze is believed to be accidental but that the incident remains under investigation.
