  1. This past weekend Kalamazoo firefighters rescued a woman from a house fire in her home on Egleston Avenue. When the first responders arrived at the scene, they could see flames and smoke coming from the first floor of the home and were alerted by neighbors that the woman may be trapped inside. With this information, firefighters could enter the home through the second floor and safely rescue the woman. The cause of the fire has still not been determined. The Fire Marshall is currently investigating. (WWMT-TV)
  2. This past Saturday at the Kalamazoo Mall, Downtown Kalamazoo celebrated the start of summer with "Kids In The Zoo." The event had a bunch of different games, activities, kids' food specials, and much more for kids of all ages to attend and enjoy. This is the first time the event was bought to Downtown Kalamazoo and it was a great event to get the community together and celebrate the school year coming to an end and the summer season coming in. (WWMT-TV)
  3. A Kalamazoo woman was arrested Friday night after allegedly firing shots at a driver's car after following the victim from Kalamazoo to Romulus. Dispatchers were on the phone with the victim as they called to report they believed they were being followed while directing the driver to the Metro South Post. The dispatcher reportedly heard gunshots being fired. The Taylor Police stopped the suspect and searched the vehicle. They safely secured the firearm without an incident or injury to anyone involved. It is still being determined what was the reason for the shooting. (FOX 2 Detroit)
