  1. It has been announced that a weekly Farmer's Market will be launching in Lansing every Tuesday from 3:00-7:00 p.m. at Reutter Park from June to September. This weekly market will be supporting local businesses and agriculture while hopefully bringing a sense of community to the downtown Lansing area. For more information about the Lansing Farmer's Market, you can visit www.downtownlansing.org. On the website, you will also be able to view the event schedule, special announcements, and vendor opportunities. (WKZO)
  2. A current Lansing resident and former city employee spoke his mind earlier this week with his concerns about the large number of open positions that are available in the city. Stan Shuck has worked multiple roles in the city and when questioned about the 140 position vacancies in the city he believes this is harming the taxpayers and residents leaving these spots open. Lansing City Council Member Patricia Spitzley believes the hiring process needs to be accelerated as it takes months for the application to be viewed, to the interview, and to the job offer and this loses a lot of key applicants to competitors. (FOX 47 News Lansing - Jackson)
  3. The East Lansing Farmers Market will be officially returning this Sunday at Valley Court Park from 10:00-2:00 p.m. just in time for the warm weather season. In addition to live music and the fresh produce the market always offers, there are several new programs and events that the market will be adding this summer including a Juneteenth celebration. A new pavilion for the farmer's market was put on hold as details surrounding the impact on the park's green space were being questioned. (WKAR)
