Several other Macomb County departments and McLaren Macomb Hospital are now coordinating to stock this costly antidote, aiming to improve survival chances for future fire victims countywide.

Bipartisan senators urge action on stalled Selfridge center (macombdaily.com) — Federal lawmakers from both parties are pressing Homeland Security to move faster on the long-planned Northern Border Mission Center at Selfridge Air National Guard Base in Macomb County. They say the center, already authorized and funded, is crucial for improving northern border security and want a detailed progress briefing this month.

Michigan judge rejects insanity plea in attempted child-abductions case (themorningsun.com) — A Macomb County Circuit Court judge has rejected an insanity plea deal and ordered a second mental evaluation for a Shelby Township man accused of attempting to abduct two children in Clinton Township and Sterling Heights. Warren man arrested after allegedly shooting cousin, leading police on high-speed chase (wxyz.com) — Macomb County deputies and local police captured a Warren man accused of shooting his cousin in Eastpointe, after a 115-mph chase ended with him hiding in icy water under a Harrison Township bridge. He’s now being held at Macomb County Jail, while the victim is hospitalized in stable condition and expected to recover.
