• Macomb Township sues Consumers Energy (candgnews.com) — Macomb Township leaders have voted to sue Consumers Energy over denied road easements they say are crucial for safe access to Hayes Road and to avoid routing traffic near Beck Elementary School. Trustees also approved ballistic glass for the clerk’s office ahead of future elections and advanced sidewalk design work along Broughton Road using a major transportation grant. 
• Warren man ordered to higher court in slaying of live-in boyfriend (macombdaily.com) — Macomb County’s court system is handling a high-profile Warren homicide case, with a 20-year-old man bound over to Macomb County Circuit Court on a second-degree murder charge in the shooting of his older live-in boyfriend. Testimony from neighbors and police described a volatile relationship and prior domestic issues as the defendant awaits a Jan. 20 arraignment.
• Lake Shore's Augustitus rises above the field to claim Macomb County Girls Bowling Singles title (macombdaily.com) — High school bowlers from across Macomb County packed 5 Star Lanes in Sterling Heights as Lake Shore senior Sara Augustitus dominated to repeat as Macomb County Girls Bowling Singles champion. Macomb Dakota’s strong showing included third-place finisher Reese Brownrigg and fourth-place Callie Gulecki, capping a big weekend for several Macomb-based programs.
