• Hero shopping shapes those in uniform (ourmidland.com) — A longtime City of Midland firefighter is helping brighten the holidays for local kids through the Midland Firefighters Youth Foundation’s Shop with a Hero events at Meijer and Walmart. Max Kopplin and fellow firefighters, police, and paramedics pair up with more than 50 children to buy gifts and stock family kitchens, while the foundation also supports Midland youth teams, school groups, and families in need year-round.
