• Michigan judge rejects insanity plea in attempted child-abductions case (themorningsun.com) — A Macomb County Circuit Court judge in Mount Clemens has rejected an insanity plea deal for a man accused of attempting to abduct two children, ordering a second independent mental evaluation instead. Families of the alleged victims, who packed the Mount Clemens courtroom, say the ruling moves the case closer to a potential criminal conviction and greater transparency about the defendant’s status and whereabouts. 
• Mich. firefighter/medics are first in county with pre-hospital administration of Cyanokit (ems1.com) — Mount Clemens’ McLaren Macomb Hospital is supplying life‑saving Cyanokit antidote kits to several Macomb County fire departments, enabling the first pre-hospital cyanide poisoning rescue in the county. Shelby Township firefighter/medics used the kit to save a man after a fire, and local medical leaders say the Mount Clemens-based program is strengthening emergency response for residents across the county.
