Boy Steals Car With Sleeping Baby Inside, Leads Officers On Wild Chase Through Macomb County: Police
Police said the chase reached speeds of more than 100 miles per hour.
CHESTERFIELD, MI — A juvenile was arrested Thursday after stealing a car with a 1-year-old inside and leading a police chase through multiple southeastern Michigan communities, according to police.
The boy stole the car at 9 p.m. Thursday in the area of Pine Grove Avenue and Hancock Street in Port Huron, according to police.
A Marysville officer spotted the stolen car on Interstate 94 near Gratiot Avenue and tried to stop the car, but the driver sped away, according to police.

Officers chased the car, eventually reaching speeds of more than 100 miles per hour, according to police.
The chase ended when the boy crashed the stolen car into multiple cars that were parked on 21 Mile Road near Sugarbush Road in Chesterfield, according to police.

Officers arrested the driver and placed him in the Macomb Juvenile Detention Facility where he awaits charges. Police did not immediately identify him.
The child was not hurt in the crash, according to police.
"We want to thank the Marysville Police Department, St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office, Macomb County Sheriff’s Office, and Chesterfield Township Police Department for their swift response and teamwork in bringing this dangerous situation to a safe resolution," Port Huron Police said.
