Macomb County Man Steals $700 Worth Of Ammo From Sports Store: Police
A Macomb man is facing charges in connection with stealing ammunition from a Chesterfield Township sports store on Monday, police said.
CHESTERFIELD TOWNSHIP, MI — A Macomb man is facing charges in connection with stealing ammunition from a Chesterfield Township sports store on Monday, according to the Macomb County Prosecutor's Office.
Erik Bronowski, 26, was charged with possession of ammunition by a prohibited person, assaulting/resisting/obstructing a police officer, second degree retail fraud and malicious destruction of a building $200 but less than $1,000.
Bronowski was also charged as a habitual fourth offender. He was placed in jail with a $10,000 bond. His next court date is scheduled for June 20. He faces up to seven years in prison for the possession of ammunition by a prohibited person charge and resisting a police officer charge.

Officials said Bronowski was in a Chesterfield Township Dunham's store Monday and took $700 worth of ammunition without paying for it. He fled from an employee and damaged an emergency exit in the process, according to prosecutors.
"We take offenses involving ammunition very seriously, especially when the individual in question is legally prohibited from possessing it. This theft not only violated the law but also posed a potential risk to public safety," Macomb County Prosecutor Pete Lucido said.
