Sheetz Breaks Ground On 2nd Detroit Area Store

CHESTERFIELD TOWNSHIP, MI — Crews broke ground Tuesday on Sheetz’s second Detroit metro location.

The gas station and convenience chain will open at 23 Mile Road just east of Interstate 94 in Chesterfield Township sometime this summer or early fall.

The 6,100 square feet store will have eight fueling islands for all vehicles, except semi trucks. It will also offer its award-winning Made-to-Order menu, which allows local residents, or "Sheetz Freakz" to order any of Sheetz’s customized drinks or food items around the clock.

The first Michigan Sheetz opened in Romulus last summer, roughly 4 miles from Metro Detroit airport.

Crews are expected to break ground on more than a dozen other Detroit metro locations later this year and into 2026, including:

• Macomb, 45075 North Gratiot Avenue
• Novi, 39471 West 12 Mile Road
• Warren, 5970 12 Mile Road
• Chesterfield Township, 23 Mile Road just east of Interstate 94
• Eastpointe, 19001 East 9 Mile Road
• Fraser, Southwest corner of 14 Mile and Utica roads
• Macomb, 45011 Garfield Road
• Romulus, 29225 Smith Road
• Taylor, 8200 Telegraph Road
• Taylor, 20623 Eureka Road
• Warren, 31925 Van Dyke Avenue
• Ypsilanti, 2103 West Michigan Avenue

Sheetz is committed to opening between 50 and 60 locations across southeastern Michigan over the next five to six years.
