2 Arrested In Violent Northville Robbery, Sexual Assault: Police

Police said the attack happened in January at a Northville Township home at Eight Mile Road and Silver Spring Drive.

NORTHVILLE, MI — Two people were arrested in connection with a violent January armed robbery and sexual assault in Northville Township, according to police.

Javon Bryant Anderson, 29, from Detroit, was charged with 26 felonies, including first-degree criminal sexual conduct, armed robbery, kidnapping, home invasion, assault less than murder, felon in possession of a firearm, assault with a dangerous weapon and felony firearm offenses.

He was placed in jail with a $500,000 bond. His next court date is Feb. 16.

The second suspect who was arrested in connection with the incident was placed in federal custody to face federal weapons charges. Police did not release the suspect's name.

Police said the attacks happened on Jan. 20 inside a Northville Township home at Eight Mile Road and Silver Spring Drive where a man was assaulted and a woman was raped.

Investigators determined the man was "lured" outside the home where he was attacked by the suspects, police said.

The suspects then forced the man back into the home where they continued to assault the man at gunpoint, police said.

One of the suspects then sexually assaulted a woman inside the home while the second suspect held the man and a 1-year-old were held at gunpoint, police said.

Officers identified the suspects after searching homes in Detroit and Taylor on Feb. 5, police said.
