Northville Attorney Announces Bid For Township Board of Trustees
Tom Cameron, a Michigan Attorney General Bureau Chief, will seek one of four seats.

Tom Cameron, a Michigan Attorney General Bureau Chief, has announced that he will seek the Republican nomination for one of four seats on Northville Township's Board of Trustees.
“These are difficult financial times for local governments everywhere in Michigan and I have the background and experience to help make tough decisions”, Cameron said in a press release. “I will fight to maintain our community’s standard of excellence. Protecting our quality of life and property values will be my top priority.”

Cameron is the Criminal Justice Bureau Chief for the Michigan Attorney General’s Office where he directs all criminal prosecutions for the office in key areas such as public corruption, on-line child sex predators, child support enforcement, Medicaid fraud, and cold case murders. Cameron earned his Bachelor of Arts in Finance from Western Michigan University and his Juris Doctorate from the Wayne State University School of Law.
While at the Michigan Attorney General’s Office, Cameron successfully prosecuted complex cases and obtained first-degree murder convictions for serial killer Coral Watts and serial child killer John Rodney McRae. In addition, Cameron has prosecuted public officials for abusing their positions of trust, such as former Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick, convicted of assault, and former River Rouge City Council President Tony Laginess, convicted of accepting a bribe. Before joining the Michigan Attorney General's Office, Cameron served as a Wayne County Assistant Prosecutor where he specialized in prosecuting homicides.
Cameron is active in the community and presently serves on the Northville Township Brownfield Redevelopment Authority, and he is a Cub Scout Den Leader for the Tiger Cubs pack number 1384. In addition, Cameron serves as Vice-President of the Michigan Commission of Law Enforcement Standards (MCOLES).
Tom Cameron is married to Dr. Mary Cameron, M.D., a family physician for the Detroit Medical Center, and together they have three children, ages 8, 7 and 5.
