Northville Rowers Bring Home Medals at States

Northville Rowing Places 4th of 26 Teams and Brings Home 7 Event Medals at States

Northville Rowing competed in the Scholastic Rowing Association of Michigan 2022 Championship Regatta held on May 21 at Kensington Metropark in Milford, Michigan. They placed 4th in combined points out of 26 teams, capturing 2 gold, 1 silver, and 4 bronze event medals.

The Men's Varsity 8+ demonstrated the depth and determination of this team by taking gold. Michael Jeromsky (senior), coxswain Radhika Ajmera, Charlie Huddy, Ben Kemnitz, Ryan Bis (juniors), Daniel DeAlmeida, Austin DiFrancesco, Joseph Siddall (sophomores), and Ryan Kretschmer (freshman) powered through with a winning time of 4:34.0. Kemnitz and DeAlmeida also earned gold for the Mustangs in the Men’s Varsity Pair with a finish of 5:36.8.

The future of Northville Rowing is bright with Mahita Parulekar and Allison Phillips (sophomores) taking silver in the Women’s 2nd/Jr 2x with a time of 5:57.6. Earning bronze in the Women’s 2nd/Jr Varsity 8 boat with a finish of 5:43.4 were Riley Miller, Kendall Moeller (juniors) coxswain Nila Muthusamy, Parulekar, Phillips, Olivia Spradlin, Claire Collyer, Holly Roberts (sophomores), and Megan Gibbons (freshman). Senior Kiana May earned bronze in the Women’s Varsity 1x with at time of 6:44.8. With a time of 5:15.6, the Men’s Varsity 4+ earned bronze with Jeromsky, Ajmera, Huddy, Bis, and Siddall. Also earning bronze in the freshmen 4+ were coxswain Param Patel (sophomore), David DiNick, Owen Johnston, Marc Boissinot and Cormac Dooley with a time of 5:36.0.

Northville Rowing has much to look forward to with many returning rowers and a middle school program to continue to develop new talent. "We had a great season and we have a great group of kids returning next year. We will return 8 of 9 athletes out of the Men's Varsity 8. The future is very bright for our program across the board," said Head Coach Nick Bickes.

Congratulations to Northville Rowing and best of luck to the Men’s Varsity Pair of Kemnitz and DeAlmeida who will compete at the USRowing Youth National Championships in Sarasota, Florida on June 9-12. Row Mustangs!
