Northville Schools Breakfast Program Public Hearing Plus More for the Week Ahead

Here are five pieces of information to help fuel your week in Northville.

It's Monday, and that means we've put together this list of things going on in Northville to help make your week a little easier. For a full list of things to do this week, look at the Patch calendar of events.

1. In case you missed it

The Michigan Department of Education released color-coded school and school district ratings Tuesday. Schools across Northville received a "Yellow" rating. Northville High School was one of those, which means it earned between 60 percent and 70 percent of possible points based on certain assessments.

4. For your informationThe first day of school in Northville is Sept. 3, and it will be a half day for elementary students. Parents have the opportunity to enroll their children in the district's "Extra Care Kids' Club." 

5. Your chance The Michigan Department of Education has mandated that school districts offer a breakfast program in each school building, with School Districts having the option to opt out of offering a program if certain criteria is met. The Board of Education of Northville Public Schools will be holding a public hearing during the regularly scheduled Board of Education meeting on Tuesday, August 27, 2013 at Hillside Middle School, to allow the public to express their views on this issue.
