Police Arrest Chicago Man on Charges of Driving While Intoxicated

The following information was supplied by the Northville Township police department. Arrests do not indicate convictions.

Northville Township police arrested a Chicago man June 9 on charges of driving while intoxicated, according to a police report. 

An officer saw the driver of a white 2013 Dodge Charger attempt to make a three-point turn in the middle of Haggerty Road near Seven Mile Road while other cars were on the road, the report said.

The officer stopped the driver and noticed the smell of alcohol on him, according to the report. The officer also found that his driver’s license was suspended out of Illinois, the report said.

The man took a preliminary breathalyzer test, which had a result of .14 percent blood alcohol content, the report said. The legal limit in Michigan is .08 percent.

The officer arrested the man on charges of driving while intoxicated and driving with a suspended license, according to the report.  He paid a $300 bond and has a hearing June 26 at 35th District Court.
