Police Arrest Westland Woman on Charges of Driving While Intoxicated

Northville Township police arrested a Westland woman around 2 a.m. Aug. 17 on charges of driving while intoxicated, according to a police report.
A couple walking near Ridge and Six Mile roads told police that a car had run off the roadway and into a ditch, the report said. The caller told police that the driver appeared to be intoxicated, according to the report.
Officers arrived and saw that the tan 2002 Honda Accord was deep enough into the ditch that its rear tires were off the ground, the report said. The woman, who was not injured, said she was driving 52 mph on Ridge Road and swerved, causing her to drive into the ditch, according to the report.

The woman said she had three Budweiser beers and two shots of Vodka around 10 p.m. but wasn’t sure when she had her last drink, the report said. Her preliminary breathalyzer test had a result of .190 percent blood alcohol content, according to the report. The legal limit is .08 percent.
The officer arrested the woman, the report said. She posted a $300 bond and has a hearing Aug. 28 at 35th District Court.
